Description:
The Health Education curriculum consists of four modules: Healthy Living, Prevention of Addiction, Prevention of Violent Behavior, and Sexual/Gender Equality and Responsible Sexual Behavior. The goal of the course is to provide basic content and methodology within the mentioned modules that will enable students to be able to, in their future teaching environment, contribute to the training of students for critical judgment of life situations and their own actions for responsible decision-making, help develop tolerance, influence the development of a positive self-image, and
point out unacceptable behaviors and deviant phenomena that should not be tolerated or ignored.

LEARNING OUTCOMES
1. Explain the importance of taking responsibility for one's own health, considering the aspects of diet, rest and physical activity
2. Compile the plan needed to maintain physical potential at an optimal level
3. Recognize the risks associated with the use of addictive substances
4. Explain the impact of alcohol, smoking and drugs on the body
5. Apply non-violent methods in solving problems
6. Outline the rules for good relations in the class while respecting diversity
7. Connect the contents (different aspects) of responsible behavior
8. Recognize, express and represent personal boundaries and needs
9. Discuss the advantages and disadvantages of different decisions about sexual activity
10. Explain risk factors for reproductive health

COURSE CONTENT:
1. INTRODUCTION What is health. Review. Concepts and approaches to health education
2. Nutrition/hydration, eating disorders
3. Hygiene, Rest - sleep/recovery
4. Physical activity
5. Basic concepts of communication. Values. Emotionality.
6. Promotion of responsible behavior. Peer pressure and self-esteem. Self control
7. Recognition and prevention of violence and violent behavior in different circumstances: friendship, relationship, sports, etc. Appreciation of diversity
8. Risk situations - challenges and choices. Promotion of responsible behavior
9. Alcohol, smoking, drugs
10. Addiction to electronic media: computer games, FB, etc.
11. Development of sexuality in children and young people. Stereotypes about sexuality, sexual rights
12. Developing the skills necessary for responsible sexual behavior. Sexual health, Responsibility and respect for one's own body
13. Sexuality from the point of view of different religious and cultural perspectives. Contraception
14. Methodology for holding workshops in the teaching of health education
15. Conclusion - Integration of health education content into the school curriculum
