EUMeTrain: World Wide Weather Briefing - Event Week 2013

From 20th to 24th May 2013, EUMeTrain is organizing a "World Wide Weather Briefing". This event week will comprise weather analyses from all corners of the world focusing on the challenges that forecasters have to face around the globe. The presenters will be local weather forecasters guiding
the audience through the regional weather characteristics they are facing throughout the year.
Presentations will consist of short introductions to regional weather services and to tools and methods they are using in everyday weather analysis. Second and main part of each presentation will give a general analysis of a current or recent
weather situation in the area of interest. Last part of the presentation is reserved for a closer look into some weather feature or phenomenon typical for the observed area, which is not often seen in other parts of the world. As always, at the end of the presentation there is time reserved for discussion, and since they are the essence of each presentation, we encourage you to participate in them!
This event week will be a great opportunity to expand your meteorological knowledge to the other regions outside Europe and to learn about the challenges of weather forecasting on other continents.
