On 31st August 2012. project SOLeNeMaR has officially closed. The aim of the project was setting up of a solid state NMR facility at the Physics Department, Faculty of Science, University of Zagreb. The project was financed by the European commission through the Seventh Framework Program (FP7) , and also considerable funding has been approved by the Croatian Ministry of Science, Education and Sports (MZOS) . Through this project new equipment has been bought, project members were given the possibility to visit partner institutions in the EU, a transfer of knowledge and experience, and cooperation with other NMR laboratories was established.

A fully functional NMR laboratory, successful workshops and seminars, publication of the paper in PRL and several more in preparation show the success of this endeavour. SOLeNeMaR is the first FP7 project coordinated by the Faculty of Science, enabling many new experiences, cooperations, and a visible synergy between various institutions at the University, within the Faculty and the Physics Department itself.

Many people were involved involved in the realization of all the goals of the project, and for that we wish to say: Thank you. Many thanks to our partners from EU which welcomed our young scientists and made the invaluable transfer of knowledge possible. By doing so, they have helped in the development of our research group, but also of the Physics Department.

The closing of the SOLeNeMaR project does not mean the end of our scientific activities. In fact, we tend to step forward with high ambitions, and invite to continue such strong cooperation .
