U utorak, 5.7.2016. godine u 13:00 sati, soba F201, Andrea Horvat sa GSI/Technische Universitaet Darmstadt održat će seminar iz nuklearne fizike pod naslovom "Dipole polarizability of neutron rich tin isotopes".
Sažetak:
One of the active pursuits in nuclear physics nowadays is to arrive at a
better understanding of forces which bind the nucleus and govern the behavior
of objects such as neutron stars, involving a great deal of theoretical and
experimental effort. One way to obtain a unied description of such phenomena
is the theoretical framework of nuclear energy density functionals, using
effective inter-nucleon interactions with model parameters usually adjusted
to observables. Accurate measurements of observables sensitive to isovector
properties are needed in order to provide better constraints on these models
in the isovector channel, such as the neutron skin thickness and the dipole
polarizability of heavy nuclei.
For this purpose an experimental campaign investigating the electric
dipole response via Coulomb excitation along the tin isotope chain ( 124Sn-134Sn)
has been carried out at the R3B (Reactions with Relativistic Radioactive
Beams) setup at GSI (Helmholtzzentrum für Schwerionenforschung). The
goal is to obtain the Coulomb excitation cross section up to the adiabatic
cut-off energy, covering the giant dipole resonance (GDR) range, which would
in turn enable the extraction of the dipole polarizability.
