The Faculty Council of the University of Zagreb Faculty of Science (hereinafter: the PMF), pursuant to Articles 32(1)(19), and 77 of the Faculty Statutes, announces the following:

 

C A L L   F O R   A P P L I C A T I O N S

for appointment

 

to the associate position of senior assistant in natural sciences, the field of geology, for a fixed term and on a full-time basis, at the Division of Geology and Palaeontology of the PMF, Department of Geology – 1 person.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS:

 

The Call is open to applicants of either gender on equal terms.

In addition to the general terms and conditions of employment, for any point of the Call the applicants must satisfy the requirements set out in the Act on Higher Education and Scientific Activity (Official Gazette No 119/22).

 

The applicants should enclose the following with their respective applications:

  • curriculum vitae (CV);
  • diploma or certificate of the required level of academic qualifications;
  • proof of nationality (a photocopy of the certificate of nationality or identity card).

The applicants must satisfy the following conditions:

- a doctoral degree in natural sciences, the field of geology

Additional conditions:

- experience within the discipline of structural geology and/or tectonics, which is demonstrated by attaching a doctoral dissertation, scientific papers, abstracts presented at scientific conferences and/or certificates of teaching courses on the mentioned topics at an institution of higher education. 

                                                  

Requirement for foreign nationals

 

In addition to all the listed documents, foreign applicants must enclose a proof of Croatian language proficiency.

 

The applicants should enclose with their application a proof of eligibility under the additional terms and conditions in accordance with the Ordinance on Additional Terms and Conditions of Appointment into Grades and the Corresponding Positions at the University of Zagreb, PMF Department of Geology

 

The applicants who qualify for employment preference under special regulations should refer to the preference in their application and enclose therewith all evidence as listed in the special regulations governing the priority placement rights, as well as all evidence of eligibility and of absence of any impediment to their exercising of the priority placement rights as stipulated under the special regulations. Such applicants will be given employment preference within this Call over other candidates, under the same terms and conditions of the Call, based on a duly completed, complete and timely application, provided they meet all the terms and conditions of the Call and achieve top score in the selection procedure.

An application shall be deemed duly completed and complete if it contains all the data and the supporting documents in keeping with the Call requirements. Incomplete, disorganised, and late applications shall not be taken into consideration, nor will there be a subsequent invitation to the applicants to amend such applications.

               

APPLICANT ASSESSMENT PROCEDURE:

 

Eligible applicants may be invited to take part in an interview within the framework of the selection procedure.

If invited, the applicants will receive a separate e-mail invitation advising them of the time and place of the interview.

Any applicant who fails to attend the interview at the time and the place as specified in the separate invitation, shall be deemed to have withdrawn from the Call proceedings.

 

The PMF collects and processes personal data of the applicants taking part in the Call for Applications for positions with the aim of verifying qualifications and eligibility in accordance with the Decision on the Collection, Protection and Processing of Personal Data (CLASSIFICATION No: 035-01/18-01/5; FILE No:251-58-10201-18-2).

 

The closing date for submission of applications for this Call is 30 days from the date of publication of the Call in the Official Gazette. 

 

The results of the Call will be published on the official website of the PMF: www.pmf.unizg.hr (Calls for Applications).
