&lt;p&gt;Kolegij Odgovorna kemija: kemikalije dvostruke namjene pruža interdisciplinaran uvid u sigurnosne, etičke i društvene implikacije sigurne primjene i zloupotrebe kemikalija, s naglaskom na prevenciju zloupotrebe i zaštitu javnog zdravlja te okoliša. Cilj je upoznati studente s nacionalnim i međunarodnim propisima o kemijskoj sigurnosti (Konvencija o kemijskom oružju, Australska skupina) i najboljim praksama za sigurno rukovanje i skladištenje kontroliranih tvari. Posebna pažnja posvećena je opasnosti od toksičnih industrijskih kemikalija i kemijskih nesreća, a dan je detaljan pregled svojstava i utjecaja kemijskih živčanih otrova te mehanizama kontrole prekursora ilegalnih droga. Kolegij promiče odgovorno i etičko ponašanje u kemijskoj znanosti i industriji.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;Nakon položenog kolegija student će moći:&lt;/p&gt;

	&lt;li&gt;Identificirati kemikalije dvostruke namjene; prepoznati i klasificirati kemikalije s legitimnim primjenama koje također predstavljaju rizik od zloupotrebe, uključujući prekursore za kontrolirane tvari i kemijsko oružje.&lt;/li&gt;
	&lt;li&gt;Razmotriti načela i odredbe ključnih međunarodnih ugovora i nacionalnih propisa koji se odnose na kemijsku sigurnost, kao što su Konvencija o kemijskom oružju i smjernice Australske skupine.&lt;/li&gt;
	&lt;li&gt;Pokazati detaljno razumijevanje svojstava, mehanizama djelovanja i potencijalnih učinaka na zdravlje različitih kemijskih bojnih otrova i drugih otrovnih kemikalija.&lt;/li&gt;
	&lt;li&gt;Opisati temeljna etička načela relevantna za kemijska istraživanja, razvoj i primjenu, uključujući koncepte odgovornosti, održivosti i društvenog utjecaja.&lt;/li&gt;
	&lt;li&gt;Procijeniti kemijsku sigurnost i potencijalnu zloporabu kemikalija.&lt;/li&gt;
	&lt;li&gt;Razviti etičku odgovornost, uz prepoznavanje potencijalnih utjecaja na društvo i okoliš.&lt;/li&gt;
	&lt;li&gt;Predložiti održive kemijske prakse koje minimiziraju utjecaj na okoliš i potiču dugoročno očuvanje resursa.&lt;/li&gt;

&lt;p&gt;Nastavne jedinice:&lt;/p&gt;

	&lt;li&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Uvod u odgovornu kemiju (1 termin).&lt;/strong&gt; Definiranje pojma odgovorne kemije. Primjeri zloupotrebe kemikalija i etičkih propusta. Etičke obveze i profesionalno ponašanje. Dvostruka namjena kemikalija.&lt;/li&gt;
	&lt;li&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Temeljna načela kemijske sigurnosti (1 termin).&lt;/strong&gt; Pregled kemijskih prijetnji: opasnosti i rizici. Kategorije i učinci kemijskog oružja. Metode zaštite i protumjere. Osnovni koncepti procjene opasnosti i upravljanja rizikom.&lt;/li&gt;
	&lt;li&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Konvencija o kemijskom oružju (CWC) (3 termina).&lt;/strong&gt; Organizacija za zabranu kemijskog oružja (OPCW). Povijest i ciljevi CWC-a. Ključne odredbe i mehanizmi verifikacije kemikalija iz popisa klasificiranih u kategorije 1, 2 i 3.&lt;/li&gt;
	&lt;li&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Prekursori i priprava ilegalnih droga (2 termina).&lt;/strong&gt; Popis ilegalnih supstanci koje se zlorabe, utjecaj na javno zdravlje. Kontrola metamfetamina (MDMA) i efedrina/pseudoefedrina. Safrol, piperonal i ilegalna proizvodnja MDMA. Regulatorna kontrola efedrina/pseudoefedrina i drugih prekursora. Regulatorni okviri za kontrolu prekursora.&lt;/li&gt;
	&lt;li&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Opijati: od legitimne upotrebe do zloupotrebe (1 termin).&lt;/strong&gt; Kemija opijata: izvori, sinteza i metabolizam. Regulacija proizvodnje i distribucije opioida. Opioidna kriza: napori za ublažavanje. Nove droge izvedene iz morfina.&lt;/li&gt;
	&lt;li&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Toksične industrijske kemikalije i kemijske nesreće (2 termina).&lt;/strong&gt; Identificiranje visokorizičnih industrijskih kemikalija: svojstva i rizici. Primjer: katastrofa u Bhopalu, Indija. Sustavi upravljanja kemijskom sigurnošću, prevencija. Hitni odgovor na ispuštanje industrijskih kemikalija u okoliš. Trovanje cijanidom i primjena cijanida u kemijskom ratovanju.&lt;/li&gt;
	&lt;li&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Kemijsko oružje – plikavci (1 termin).&lt;/strong&gt; Svojstva i učinci plikavca iperita kao kemijskoga bojnog otrova. Povijesna upotreba iperita u ratovanju. Otkrivanje i dekontaminacija iperita.&lt;/li&gt;
	&lt;li&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Živčani bojni otrovi (2 termina).&lt;/strong&gt; Kemija sarina: sinteza, svojstva i mehanizam djelovanja. Povijesna upotreba sarina u ratu i terorističkim napadima. Klasifikacija, otkrivanje i dekontaminacija živčanih otrova. Medicinske protumjere za živčane otrove – antidoti.&lt;/li&gt;
	&lt;li&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Australska skupina i kontrola izvoza (1 termin).&lt;/strong&gt; Povijest, ciljevi i države članice. Kontrola izvoza prekursora kemijskoga i biološkog oružja. Primjeri: saksitoksin, ricin, botulin i njihov potencijal za zloupotrebu. Regulatorna kontrola proizvodnje i distribucije biotoksina.&lt;/li&gt;
	&lt;li&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Etika u znanosti i budućnost odgovorne kemije (1 termin).&lt;/strong&gt; Etički okviri za znanstvena istraživanja, Belmontovo izvješće. Primjeri etičkih dilema: sukob interesa i integritet podataka. Uloga znanstvenika u promicanju odgovornih inovacija. Budući izazovi i prilike za odgovornu kemiju.&lt;/li&gt;

&lt;p&gt;Predavanja, online nastava i samostalni rad studenta. Svi nastavni materijali dostupni su na platformi za e-učenje.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;Ispit se sastoji od pismenog i usmenog dijela. Konačna ocjena formira se vrednovanjem (ukupno 100 bodova): kontinuirane provjere znanja 20 % (0–20 bodova), pismenoga ispita 60 % (0–60 bodova) i usmenoga ispita 20 % (0–20 bodova).&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;The course Responsible Chemistry: Dual-Use Chemicals provides an interdisciplinary insight into the safety, ethical, and societal implications of the safe application and misuse of chemicals, with an emphasis on preventing abuse and protecting public health and the environment. The goal is to familiarize students with national and international regulations on chemical safety (the Chemical Weapons Convention, the Australia Group) and best practices for the safe handling and storage of controlled substances. Special attention is given to the dangers of toxic industrial chemicals and chemical accidents, and a detailed overview is provided of the properties and effects of chemical nerve agents, as well as the mechanisms for controlling precursors to illegal drugs. The course promotes responsible and ethical conduct in the chemical sciences and industry.&lt;/p&gt;

	&lt;li&gt;Examine the principles and provisions of key international treaties and national regulations concerning chemical security, such as the Chemical Weapons Convention and the Australia Group guidelines.&lt;/li&gt;
	&lt;li&gt;Demonstrate a detailed understanding of the properties, mechanisms of action, and potential health effects of various chemical warfare agents and other toxic chemicals.&lt;/li&gt;
	&lt;li&gt;Describe fundamental ethical principles relevant to chemical research, development, and application, including concepts of responsibility, sustainability, and societal impact.&lt;/li&gt;

	&lt;li&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Basic principles of chemical safety (1 term).&lt;/strong&gt; Overview of chemical threats: hazards and risks. Categories and effects of chemical weapons. Methods of protection and countermeasures. Basic concepts of hazard assessment and risk management.&lt;/li&gt;
	&lt;li&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Chemical Weapons Convention (CWC) (3 terms).&lt;/strong&gt; Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW). History and objectives of the CWC. Key provisions and mechanisms of verification of chemicals from the list classified in categories 1, 2 and 3.&lt;/li&gt;
	&lt;li&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Precursors and preparation of illegal drugs (2 terms).&lt;/strong&gt; List of illegal substances of abuse, impact on public health. Control of methamphetamine (MDMA) and ephedrine/pseudoephedrine. Safrole, piperonal and illegal production of MDMA. Regulatory control of ephedrine/pseudoephedrine and other precursors. Regulatory frameworks for precursor control.&lt;/li&gt;
	&lt;li&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Opiates: from legitimate use to abuse (1 term).&lt;/strong&gt; Opiate chemistry: sources, synthesis and metabolism. Regulation of production and distribution of opioids. The opioid crisis: efforts to mitigate. New drugs derived from morphine.&lt;/li&gt;
	&lt;li&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Toxic industrial chemicals and chemical accidents (2 terms).&lt;/strong&gt; Identifying high-risk industrial chemicals: properties and risks. Example: Bhopal disaster, India. Chemical safety management systems, prevention. Emergency response to industrial chemical releases into the environment. Cyanide poisoning and the use of cyanide in chemical warfare.&lt;/li&gt;
	&lt;li&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Chemical weapons – blister agents (1 session).&lt;/strong&gt; Properties and effects of sulphur mustard (mustard gas) as a chemical warfare agent. Historical use of sulphur mustard in warfare. Detection and decontamination of sulphur mustard.&lt;/li&gt;
	&lt;li&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Nerve agents (2 sessions).&lt;/strong&gt; Chemistry of sarin: synthesis, properties, and mechanism of action. Historical use of sarin in war and terrorist attacks. Classification, detection, and decontamination of nerve agents. Medical countermeasures for nerve agents – antidotes.&lt;/li&gt;
	&lt;li&gt;&lt;strong&gt;The Australia Group and export controls (1 session).&lt;/strong&gt; History, objectives, and member states. Export controls on chemical and biological weapon precursors. Examples: saxitoxin, ricin, botulin, and their potential for misuse. Regulatory control of biotoxin production and distribution.&lt;/li&gt;
	&lt;li&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Ethics in science and the future of responsible chemistry (1 session).&lt;/strong&gt; Ethical frameworks for scientific research, the Belmont Report. Examples of ethical dilemmas: conflicts of interest and data integrity. The role of scientists in promoting responsible innovation. Future challenges and opportunities for responsible chemistry.&lt;/li&gt;

&lt;p&gt;Kolegij Odgovorna kemija: kemikalije dvostruke namjene pruža interdisciplinaran uvid u sigurnosne, etičke i društvene implikacije sigurne primjene i zloupotrebe kemikalija, s naglaskom na prevenciju zloupotrebe i zaštitu javnog zdravlja te okoliša. Cilj je upoznati studente s nacionalnim i međunarodnim propisima o kemijskoj sigurnosti (Konvencija o kemijskom oružju, Australska skupina) i najboljim praksama za sigurno rukovanje i skladištenje kontroliranih tvari. Posebna pažnja posvećena je opasnosti od toksičnih industrijskih kemikalija i kemijskih nesreća, a dan je detaljan pregled svojstava i utjecaja kemijskih živčanih otrova te mehanizama kontrole prekursora ilegalnih droga. Kolegij promiče odgovorno i etičko ponašanje u kemijskoj znanosti i industriji.&lt;/p&gt;

	&lt;li&gt;Identificirati kemikalije dvostruke namjene; prepoznati i klasificirati kemikalije s legitimnim primjenama koje također predstavljaju rizik od zloupotrebe, uključujući prekursore za kontrolirane tvari i kemijsko oružje.&lt;/li&gt;
	&lt;li&gt;Razmotriti načela i odredbe ključnih međunarodnih ugovora i nacionalnih propisa koji se odnose na kemijsku sigurnost, kao što su Konvencija o kemijskom oružju i smjernice Australske skupine.&lt;/li&gt;
	&lt;li&gt;Pokazati detaljno razumijevanje svojstava, mehanizama djelovanja i potencijalnih učinaka na zdravlje različitih kemijskih bojnih otrova i drugih otrovnih kemikalija.&lt;/li&gt;

	&lt;li&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Uvod u odgovornu kemiju (1 termin).&lt;/strong&gt; Definiranje pojma odgovorne kemije. Primjeri zloupotrebe kemikalija i etičkih propusta. Etičke obveze i profesionalno ponašanje. Dvostruka namjena kemikalija.&lt;/li&gt;
	&lt;li&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Temeljna načela kemijske sigurnosti (1 termin).&lt;/strong&gt; Pregled kemijskih prijetnji: opasnosti i rizici. Kategorije i učinci kemijskog oružja. Metode zaštite i protumjere. Osnovni koncepti procjene opasnosti i upravljanja rizikom.&lt;/li&gt;
	&lt;li&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Konvencija o kemijskom oružju (CWC) (3 termina).&lt;/strong&gt; Organizacija za zabranu kemijskog oružja (OPCW). Povijest i ciljevi CWC-a. Ključne odredbe i mehanizmi verifikacije kemikalija iz popisa klasificiranih u kategorije 1, 2 i 3.&lt;/li&gt;
	&lt;li&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Prekursori i priprava ilegalnih droga (2 termina).&lt;/strong&gt; Popis ilegalnih supstanci koje se zlorabe, utjecaj na javno zdravlje. Kontrola metamfetamina (MDMA) i efedrina/pseudoefedrina. Safrol, piperonal i ilegalna proizvodnja MDMA. Regulatorna kontrola efedrina/pseudoefedrina i drugih prekursora. Regulatorni okviri za kontrolu prekursora.&lt;/li&gt;
	&lt;li&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Opijati: od legitimne upotrebe do zloupotrebe (1 termin).&lt;/strong&gt; Kemija opijata: izvori, sinteza i metabolizam. Regulacija proizvodnje i distribucije opioida. Opioidna kriza: napori za ublažavanje. Nove droge izvedene iz morfina.&lt;/li&gt;
	&lt;li&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Toksične industrijske kemikalije i kemijske nesreće (2 termina).&lt;/strong&gt; Identificiranje visokorizičnih industrijskih kemikalija: svojstva i rizici. Primjer: katastrofa u Bhopalu, Indija. Sustavi upravljanja kemijskom sigurnošću, prevencija. Hitni odgovor na ispuštanje industrijskih kemikalija u okoliš. Trovanje cijanidom i primjena cijanida u kemijskom ratovanju.&lt;/li&gt;
	&lt;li&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Kemijsko oružje – plikavci (1 termin).&lt;/strong&gt; Svojstva i učinci plikavca iperita kao kemijskoga bojnog otrova. Povijesna upotreba iperita u ratovanju. Otkrivanje i dekontaminacija iperita.&lt;/li&gt;
	&lt;li&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Živčani bojni otrovi (2 termina).&lt;/strong&gt; Kemija sarina: sinteza, svojstva i mehanizam djelovanja. Povijesna upotreba sarina u ratu i terorističkim napadima. &lt;p&gt;The course Responsible Chemistry: Dual-Use Chemicals provides an interdisciplinary insight into the safety, ethical, and societal implications of the safe application and misuse of chemicals, with an emphasis on preventing abuse and protecting public health and the environment. The goal is to familiarize students with national and international regulations on chemical safety (the Chemical Weapons Convention, the Australia Group) and best practices for the safe handling and storage of controlled substances. Special attention is given to the dangers of toxic industrial chemicals and chemical accidents, and a detailed overview is provided of the properties and effects of chemical nerve agents, as well as the mechanisms for controlling precursors to illegal drugs. The course promotes responsible and ethical conduct in the chemical sciences and industry.&lt;/p&gt;

Control of methamphetamine (MDMA) and ephedrine/pseudoephedrine. Safrole, piperonal and illegal production of MDMA. Regulatory control of ephedrine/pseudoephedrine and other precursors. 	&lt;li&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Toxic industrial chemicals and chemical accidents (2 terms).&lt;/strong&gt; Identifying high-risk industrial chemicals: properties and risks. Example: Bhopal disaster, India. Chemical safety management systems, prevention. Emergency response to industrial chemical releases into the environment. Cyanide poisoning and the use of cyanide in chemical warfare.&lt;/li&gt;
	&lt;li&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Chemical weapons – blister agents (1 session).&lt;/strong&gt; Properties and effects of sulphur mustard (mustard gas) as a chemical warfare agent. Historical use of sulphur mustard in warfare. Detection and decontamination of sulphur mustard.&lt;/li&gt;
	&lt;li&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Nerve agents (2 sessions).&lt;/strong&gt; Chemistry of sarin: synthesis, properties, and mechanism of action. Historical use of sarin in war and terrorist attacks. Classification, detection, and decontamination of nerve agents. Medical countermeasures for nerve agents – antidotes.&lt;/li&gt;

&lt;p&gt;Kolegij Odgovorna kemija: kemikalije dvostruke namjene pruža interdisciplinaran uvid u sigurnosne, etičke i društvene implikacije sigurne primjene i zloupotrebe kemikalija, s naglaskom na prevenciju zloupotrebe i zaštitu javnog zdravlja te okoliša. Cilj je upoznati studente s nacionalnim i međunarodnim propisima o kemijskoj sigurnosti (Konvencija o kemijskom oružju, Australska skupina) i najboljim praksama za sigurno rukovanje i skladištenje kontroliranih tvari. Posebna pažnja posvećena je opasnosti od toksičnih industrijskih kemikalija i kemijskih nesreća, a dan je detaljan pregled svojstava i utjecaja kemijskih živčanih otrova te mehanizama kontrole prekursora ilegalnih droga. Kolegij promiče odgovorno i etičko ponašanje u kemijskoj znanosti i industriji.&lt;/p&gt;

	&lt;li&gt;Identificirati kemikalije dvostruke namjene; prepoznati i klasificirati kemikalije s legitimnim primjenama koje također predstavljaju rizik od zloupotrebe, uključujući prekursore za kontrolirane tvari i kemijsko oružje.&lt;/li&gt;
	&lt;li&gt;Razmotriti načela i odredbe ključnih međunarodnih ugovora i nacionalnih propisa koji se odnose na kemijsku sigurnost, kao što su Konvencija o kemijskom oružju i smjernice Australske skupine.&lt;/li&gt;
	&lt;li&gt;Pokazati detaljno razumijevanje svojstava, mehanizama djelovanja i potencijalnih učinaka na zdravlje različitih kemijskih bojnih otrova i drugih otrovnih kemikalija.&lt;/li&gt;

	&lt;li&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Uvod u odgovornu kemiju (1 termin).&lt;/strong&gt; Definiranje pojma odgovorne kemije. Primjeri zloupotrebe kemikalija i etičkih propusta. Etičke obveze i profesionalno ponašanje. Dvostruka namjena kemikalija.&lt;/li&gt;
	&lt;li&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Temeljna načela kemijske sigurnosti (1 termin).&lt;/strong&gt; Pregled kemijskih prijetnji: opasnosti i rizici. Kategorije i učinci kemijskog oružja. Metode zaštite i protumjere. Osnovni koncepti procjene opasnosti i upravljanja rizikom.&lt;/li&gt;
	&lt;li&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Konvencija o kemijskom oružju (CWC) (3 termina).&lt;/strong&gt; Organizacija za zabranu kemijskog oružja (OPCW). Povijest i ciljevi CWC-a. Ključne odredbe i mehanizmi verifikacije kemikalija iz popisa klasificiranih u kategorije 1, 2 i 3.&lt;/li&gt;
	&lt;li&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Prekursori i priprava ilegalnih droga (2 termina).&lt;/strong&gt; Popis ilegalnih supstanci koje se zlorabe, utjecaj na javno zdravlje. Kontrola metamfetamina (MDMA) i efedrina/pseudoefedrina. Safrol, piperonal i ilegalna proizvodnja MDMA. Regulatorna kontrola efedrina/pseudoefedrina i drugih prekursora. Regulatorni okviri za kontrolu prekursora.&lt;/li&gt;
	&lt;li&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Opijati: od legitimne upotrebe do zloupotrebe (1 termin).&lt;/strong&gt; Kemija opijata: izvori, sinteza i metabolizam. Regulacija proizvodnje i distribucije opioida. Opioidna kriza: napori za ublažavanje. Nove droge izvedene iz morfina.&lt;/li&gt;
	&lt;li&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Toksične industrijske kemikalije i kemijske nesreće (2 termina).&lt;/strong&gt; Identificiranje visokorizičnih industrijskih kemikalija: svojstva i rizici. Primjer: katastrofa u Bhopalu, Indija. Sustavi upravljanja kemijskom sigurnošću, prevencija. Hitni odgovor na ispuštanje industrijskih kemikalija u okoliš. Trovanje cijanidom i primjena cijanida u kemijskom ratovanju.&lt;/li&gt;
	&lt;li&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Kemijsko oružje – plikavci (1 termin).&lt;/strong&gt; Svojstva i učinci plikavca iperita kao kemijskoga bojnog otrova. Povijesna upotreba iperita u ratovanju. Otkrivanje i dekontaminacija iperita.&lt;/li&gt;
	&lt;li&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Živčani bojni otrovi (2 termina).&lt;/strong&gt; Kemija sarina: sinteza, svojstva i mehanizam djelovanja. Povijesna upotreba sarina u ratu i terorističkim napadima. Klasifikacija, otkrivanje i dekontaminacija živčanih otrova. Medicinske protumjere za živčane otrove – antidoti.&lt;/li&gt;
	&lt;li&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Australska skupina i kontrola izvoza (1 termin).&lt;/strong&gt; Povijest, ciljevi i države članice. Kontrola izvoza prekursora kemijskoga i biološkog oružja. Primjeri: saksitoksin, ricin, botulin i njihov potencijal za zloupotrebu. Regulatorna kontrola proizvodnje i distribucije biotoksina.&lt;/li&gt;
	&lt;li&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Etika u znanosti i budućnost odgovorne kemije (1 termin).&lt;/strong&gt; Etički okviri za znanstvena istraživanja, Belmontovo izvješće. Primjeri etičkih dilema: sukob interesa i integritet podataka. Uloga znanstvenika u promicanju odgovornih inovacija. Budući izazovi i prilike za odgovornu kemiju.&lt;/li&gt;

&lt;p&gt;The course Responsible Chemistry: Dual-Use Chemicals provides an interdisciplinary insight into the safety, ethical, and societal implications of the safe application and misuse of chemicals, with an emphasis on preventing abuse and protecting public health and the environment. The goal is to familiarize students with national and international regulations on chemical safety (the Chemical Weapons Convention, the Australia Group) and best practices for the safe handling and storage of controlled substances. Special attention is given to the dangers of toxic industrial chemicals and chemical accidents, and a detailed overview is provided of the properties and effects of chemical nerve agents, as well as the mechanisms for controlling precursors to illegal drugs. The course promotes responsible and ethical conduct in the chemical sciences and industry.&lt;/p&gt;
