&lt;p style="margin-left:0cm; margin-right:0cm; text-align:justify"&gt;Molekula DNA jedna je od temeljnih bioloških makromolekula čija je uloga pohrana i prijenos genetske informacije u živom svijetu. Upravo zbog činjenice da je evolucijski razvijena za pohranu genetske informacije, DNA ima ogroman potencijal za dugoročno skladištenje velike količine različitih podataka. Iako je ideja o korištenju DNA kao sustava za pohranu računalnih podataka krenula u realizaciju, njena praktična primjena još nije zaživjela jer su procesi pohrane (pisanja), uređivanja i čitanja podataka na DNA još uvijek skupi i neefikasni u usporedbi s aktualnim tehnologijama. Cilj MI-DNA DISK projekta je razviti novi, jeftin, energetski učinkovit i brz sustav za pohranu podataka na DNA, odnosno sustav koji može pisati, uređivati, pohranjivati i čitati (dohvatiti) podatke s DNA. Vizija je da se takav sustav temelji na jednostavnim i lako dostupnim hardverskim komponentama te bakterijskim stanicama. Predloženo tehnološko rješenje omogućuje kratkoročno, srednjoročno i dugoročno skladištenje podataka na DNA. Kako bismo postigli tu viziju, iskoristit ćemo bakterijske genetske mehanizme koji su evolucijski optimizirani tijekom milijarda godina, poput genetskih prekidača osjetljivih na boje i procesa razmjene DNA. U postizanju navedenog cilja koristit će se interdisciplinarno istraživanje temeljeno na eksperimentalnim i računalnim metodama. Trajektorije molekularne dinamike koje će se generirati tijekom istraživanja iskoristit će se dokaz koncepta, odnosno pohranit ćemo male i vrlo velike datoteke trajektorije molekularne dinamike na DNA te ih zatim s tog sustava čitati i analizirati. Projektni konzorcij čine e. Kako bi se postigao navedeni cilj projekta, neophodna je interdisciplinarnost i suradnja grupa različitih profila i ekspertiza. Stoga se projektni konzorcij sastoji od&amp;nbsp; pet partnera iz četiri europske zemlje i uključuje istraživače usmjerene na primjenu (AIT), istraživače usmjerene na fundamentalna istraživanja (TUM i PMF) te dva mala i srednja poduzeća ( EKO REFUGIUM, DAY ONE).&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p style="margin-left:0cm; margin-right:0cm; text-align:justify"&gt;DNA has a huge potential for the long-term storage of large amounts of data. However, writing, editing, and reading DNA-based data is expensive and inefficient with current technologies. Our vision is to develop a low-cost, energy-efficient, and fast data drive that is able to write, edit, store, and retrieve DNA-based data. The data drive is based on simple and easily available hardware components plus bacterial cells. The proposed technological solution enables the short-, medium-, and long-term storage of DNA-based data. To achieve this vision, we will exploit bacterial genetic mechanisms that were evolutionarily optimized for billions of years, such as colour-sensitive genetic switches and DNA exchange processes. We have defined two specific objectives to achieve our goal. As a proof-of-concept, we will store a large trajectory file of a molecular dynamics simulation encoded on DNA. Our consortium has five partners from four European countries. One research organisation, two university, and two SMEs will work together to achieve the outlined vision.&lt;/p&gt;
