Academic Ranking of World Universities, better known as "The Shanghai list" published this year's ranking by scientific disciplines (GRAS). University of Zagreb is ranked amongst most prestigious universities in 12 disciplines.
With great pleasure we inform you that Mathematics was ranked first in the category of Natural Sciences and fourth in total (after Marine/Ocean Engineering, Food Science and Technology and Hospitality and Tourism Management) in the category 301. - 400. place.
This prestigious ranking system takes into account:
- number of published papers in high ranked journals (Q1),
- number of quotes regarding the scientific discipline,
- international cooperations,
- number of won prizes in each individual discipline, and
- number of scientific papers published in the most prestigious journals according to ShanghaiRanking’s Academic Excellence Survey.
With all that taken into consideration, the result on "The Shanghai list" is exeptionaly valuable and serves as great motivator for further development of science at the University of Zagreb, as well as national science as whole.
