On Tuesday 26/5/2015 at 14:15h in room F08 Professor Davor Pavuna from Physics Section, EPFL, Lausanne, Switzerland will give a seminar talk entitled "Understanding Physics and Hetero-Epitaxy of High-Tc and Related Quantum Materials".
Sažetak/Abstract:
Unlike colleagues who have concentrated on the studies of ever-better single crystals of quantum materials, in the past 30 years we have systematically focussed on the hetero-epitaxy of high-Tc and related oxides and quantum materials in general. We have linked our laser ablation system to the synchrotron ARPES, studied the role of doping and strain on enhancement of Tc, and learned how to minimize the disorder.
We have also performed a series of electric field effect studies on these materials and I will overview the latest results, the challenges and prospects in physics of these correlated functional materials.
