Reaction calorimetry: enthalpy of reaction in the Daniell cell. Dissociation equilibrium: determination of equilibrium constant of deprotonation of methyl rot using spectrophotometry method. Distribution: determination of equilibrium constant of distribution of ammonia between water and chloroform. Solubility of gases: determination of equilibrium constant of oxygen dissolution in water. Colligative properties: determination of ebulioscopic and cryoscopic constants. Adsorption: adsorption equilibrium, the Langmuir and Freundlich isotherms. Chemical kinetics: temperature dependence of reaction rates, determination of reaction rate constant of ethyl acetate hydrolysis at different temperatures, calculation of activation energy. Kinetics of ionic reactions 1: primary salt effect, second order kinetics. Kinetics of ionic reactions 2: primary salt effect, pseudo-first order kinetics. Conductometric titration: determination of concentration of NaOH solution using conductometric titration, verification of results by means of automatic potentiometric titration.


After completing the laboratory course student should be able to:
- independently measure basic physico-chemical properties (pH, conductivity, absorbance, temperature, electromotive force, etc ...) using modern instrumentation and classical techniques
- collect and interpret the experimental results
- apply standard mathematical methods for solving the chemical problems and analysing the experimental results.
- apply various physico-chemical models for interpretation of experimental results
- analyse the experimental results regarding the reproducibility of measurements, sensitivity of measurements and predictable errors.
- analyse the factors that influence the obtained results.
