All teaching activities will be held in Croatian. However, foreign students in mixed groups will have the opportunity to attend additional office hours with the lecturer and teaching assistants in English to help master the course materials. Additionally, the lecturer will refer foreign students to the corresponding literature in English, as well as give them the possibility of taking the associated exams in English.

Description:
COURSE AIMS AND OBJECTIVES: Introduction to parallel algorithms for solving various real-world problems.

COURSE DESCRIPTION AND SYLLABUS:
1. Sources of parallelism in real-world problems.
2. Parallel solution of linear systems and basic matrix factorizations.
3. Iterative solution of linear systems.
4. Parallel sorting and searching.
5. Parallel graph algorithms and graph partitioning.
6. Parallel solution of n body problems.
7. Parallel eigenvalue computation.
8. Sparse linear systems.
This programme is based on similar courses offered by University of California (Berkeley, USA) and MIT (Cambridge, USA).
