Description:
LECTURES
1. A short history of the horticulture.
2. Maintaining the garden: tools and equipment, greenhouses and frames, nursery gardens, soils and fertilizers, controlling garden pests.
3. Generative plant propagation: seeds and sowing.
4. Vegetative plant propagation: division, cuttings, layering, grafting, plant tissue culture.
5. Trees and shrubs: planting, care, overview of the selected species and use in horticulture.
6. Indoor and balcony plants: planting, care, overview of the selected species and use in horticulture.
7. Outdoor plants (annual, biennial and herbaceous perennial flowers): planting, care, overview of the selected species and use in horticulture.
8. Creating and maintaining the aquatic gardens.
9. Creating and maintaining the grasslands. Green roofs.
10. Planning and creating the gardens.
11. Organic gardens. Permaculture.
12. Urban gardens. Educative gardens.


PRACTICUM
1. Visiting greenhouses, frames, nursery gardens and Botanical Garden, Zagreb.
2. Sowing and pricking out.
3. Vegetative plant propagation 1: division, leaf cuttings.
4. Vegetative plant propagation 2: steam and root cuttings.
5. Vegetative plant propagation 3: grafting.
6. Trees and shrubs planting. Trees and shrubs pruning.
7. Creating and maintaining the grassland.

9. Gardens of Zagreb 1: Trg kralja Tomislava: park plan and plant list.
