Wastewater Treatment Technology (53454)
After completing the study program, the student will be able to use highly specialized theoretical and practical knowledge that forms the basis for originality in the development and/or applied idea. Demonstrates critical awareness, establishes a diagnosis of the problem based on research, connecting knowledge from new or interdisciplinary fields. Develops new skills in response to new knowledge and techniques. Demonstrates leadership and innovation in work and study contexts that are unknown, complex or unpredictable and that require solving problems involving many interactive factors. Critically reflects on strategic work. Demonstrates independence in the direction of learning and a high level of understanding of the learning process. Communicates project results and methods to the professional and general public in an argumentative manner using appropriate techniques. The course will enable students to understand the technologies used in wastewater treatment.

3) Parameters used in wastewater treatment technology
4) Biological wastewater treatment technologies
5) Anaerobic wastewater treatment
6) Removal of nutrients and heavy metals in biological wastewater treatment plants
7) Removal of pathogens in wastewater treatment plants
8) Causes of decreased efficiency of biological wastewater treatment plants
9) Bioaugmentation
10) Immobilization of phosphate-accumulating bacteria on natural materials
11) Wastewater treatment in Croatia.
