Edi Topić is a Senior Assistant at the Department of General and Inorganic Chemistry. He earned his PhD in 2023, and his research focuses on diffraction, crystallography, solid-state chemistry, and the structural, magnetic, and electrical properties of functional materials.
In his work to date, he has developed expertise in diffraction methods, spectroscopy, thermal analysis, materials synthesis and characterization, as well as the modeling and processing of experimental data. His work also includes the development of computational approaches for diffraction data analysis, including applications of deep learning in crystallography.
He is the author of 30 original scientific papers, one review article, and four international patents. He has led and participated in scientific and professional projects, including projects funded by the Croatian Science Foundation, the Croatian Academy of Sciences and Arts Foundation, and National Recovery and Resilience Plan projects.
