Research interest:  Synthesis of heterocyclic compounds of the pyridinone type as a metal ions chelators. Synthesis of a mannosylated pyridinones and evaluation of their hemagglutination inhibitory properties as possible FimH antagonists. Synthesis of a lipophilic pyridionone derivatives with potential biological activity. Complexation studies of the pyridinone derivatives with cyclodextrines by NMR spectroscopy. Synthesis and enzymic transformation of acylated monosaccharides. Purification of the enzymes from the natural sources such as mammalian sera.
