Description:

Course objectives:
Become aware of the processes in the classroom, their interconnectedness and conditionality, starting from empirical experience of concrete situations during the teaching of science and biology. Develop a set of key skills necessary for the work of future teachers. Allow the experience of sovereign presentation of biological science to the development of organizational and interpersonal skills.
LECTURES:
1. teacher of biology profession and historical overview of teaching biology;
2. communication skills of teachers with the preparation of interesting biology;
3. cognitive process in the classroom;
4. motivation;
5. verbal teaching methods in biology;
6. visual teaching methods in biology;
7. practical work in biology;
8. biology lessons;
9. organization of space for teaching;
10. sociological forms of work;
11. preparation for lecturing;
12. complementary and supplementary education, outdoor education and extracurricular activities;
13. external evaluation (including analysis of national exams, the state graduation, PISA and TIMSS projects)
14. selection of quality textbooks and insight into the curriculum of Nature and Biology;
15. learning portfolio.
PRACTICAL:
Practical preparations for classes to developing the necessary skills for teaching:
1. material conditions of teaching biology;
2. demonstrations in the classroom;
3. carrying out rules for students practical work;
4. preparation and implementation of practical work in the teaching;
5. multimedia in teaching and preparing presentations for pupils;
6. image and film processing for use in teaching;
7. preparation of biological materials for teaching;
8. worksheets;
9. short lessons plan;
10. students notes;
11. biology teacher's cabinet;
12. rules for the preparation of the written tasks;
13. sample lesson of Science and Biology in primary school;
14. sample lesson biology in secondary schools (high school and vocational school);
15. basic advice for teaching biological content.
