Dijana Škorić received a Ph.D. in biology from the University of Zagreb, Croatia in 2000. She is an associate professor at the Department of Biology, Faculty of Science, University of Zagreb where she teaches courses related to molecular bacteriology and virology in the frame of Master and Doctoral studies. So far, she has mentored 2 PhD and 15 MSc students.
Her scientific interests are in the field of molecular plant pathology, especially in the diversity of plant viruses and viroids, molecular characterization, epidemiology and diversity of phytoplasmas or other uncultivable bacteria. She was a Fulbright scholar at the Department of Plant Pathology, University of California-Riverside, USA, an EMBO short-term fellow, and later on a TEMPUS fellow, at the Dipartimento di Patologia Vegetale e Scienze Ambientali, University of Bologna, Italy, as well as a visiting young scientist at Dipartimento di Patologia Vegetale, University of Bari, Italy.
Dijana Skoric was a president of scientific boards of 2 international scientific conferences, a member of another 2, and an organising committee president of 1 national conference with international participation. She presented 3 invited lectures at international scientific conferences and another 3 at national conferences with international participation.

D. Škorić is a member of several international and national science organizations and bodies. She is a representative of the Croatian Microbiological Society (CMS) in the International Committee on Taxonomy of Viruses since 2012, a president of the CMS Virology Section since 2013, a Croatian representative in the Mediterranean Network on Certification of Citrus (MNCC) since 2003, a member of the International Organization of Citrus Virologists (IOCV), International Council for the Study of Virus and Virus-like Diseases of the Grapevine (ICVG), International Council for the Study of Virus and other Graft Transmissible Diseases of Fruit Crops (ICVF), International Organization of Mycoplasmology (IOM). She was a vice-head of the Department of Biology in charge for education and students (2010-2011). Professor Škorić has published more than 50 scientific and expert papers, 4 book chapters and participated at more than 20 international scientific conferences. Besides English, she actively uses French and Italian.
Member of the editorial board of the Journal of Plant Pathology (indexed in the Current Contents database) as associate editor (2010-2014) and as senior editor (2015 -onwards).
Reviewer of about 50 papers indexed in the base Current Contents (Journal of Plant Pathology, Plant Disease, Canadian Journal of Phytopathology, Journal of Phytopathology) or in the SCI Expanded (Phytopatologia Mediterranea, Acta Botanica Croatica), a reviewer of an NSF project.
