Description: | |||||
This course is an introduction to the Master's thesis. The aim of the course is to train students in individual geological field techniques by encouraging individual (but supervised) fieldwork and mapping. During the course, students typically spend extended periods of time in the field working on a variety of group and individual projects. Students apply previously acquired skills in describing rocks, measuring sections, and recording geological field data. After this initial introductory phase, students complete a series of specific tests that include laboratory work. The fieldwork focuses on igneous, sedimentary and metamorphic complexes in Croatia (Medvednica, Moslavačka Gora, Slavonian Mountains, Inner Dinarides) or, under favorable circumstances, in the Alps and Carpathians. The field technique course ended with the creation of a geological map and a column. The written report contains field and laboratory data. |
