A paper titled “Field-induced quantum soliton lattice in a frustrated two-leg spin-1/2 ladder” has been published in the new issue of Physical Review Letters (PRL 110, 187201 (2013)), with Mihael Grbić from our group as one of the co-authors. The paper reports a first observation of a soliton-order in a spin system of frustrated zig-zag ladder. This existence of exotic phase demonstrates splitting of a magnon (spin-1 excitation) induced by a strong magnetic field and a competitive interaction from neighbouring spin sites. Research has been made during the postdoctoral stay of dr. Grbić at Laboratoire National des Champs Magnétiques Intenses (Grenoble, France).
