BICRO project completed

An industrial BiCRO-PoC project titled "Contactless luminiscent thermometer for specific conditions in electroenergetic facilities" has been completed. Aim of the project was to develop a conceptual prototype of an optical thermometer.

Several luminiscating compounds have been sinthetized and tested on a home-built laboratory setup. We tried varying material properties to optimize the optical thermometer signal. By using simple electronics and low-cost optical components, we managed to develop a prototype which has show great reproducibility and precision in temperature detection. The developed system (for temperature readout of static components) has the precision of 1 K and does not  rely on either electric or mechanical contact.
