Description:
1) Atom-light interaction. Semi-classical theory, two-level atom and Rabi oscillations. Stimulated emission and laser. Jaynes-Cummings model and Weisskopf-Wigner theory of spontaneous emission. Dark states and electromagnetically induced transparency.
2) Quantum theory of damping. Interaction with a thermal reservoar in the Markovian white-noise approximation. Master equation for the density operator. Heisenberg-Langevin formalism.
3) Resonant fluorescence. Theory of a spectrum analyzer. Quantum regression theorem. Photonic antibunching and non-classical states of light.
