Description:
Crystal-chemical properties of silicates. Olivine group. Garnet group. Group of alumosilicates. Calcium silicates. Epidote group. Beryl group. Turmaline group. Inoslicates ? pyroxenes. Inosilicates ? amphiboles. Phylosilicates ? micas. Phylosilicates ? chlorites. Phylosilicates ? group of kalinite-serpentine. Felsdspar and scapolite groups. Zeolite group.

Learning outcomes:

Basic ability to independently analyze silicate minerals in the field and laboratory and to describe, process, document and report the results.
