From Monday, October 27 to Wednesday, October 29, 2025, the Short-term Network Meeting of the network HR-1108-09-2526 Colloids and nanomaterials in education and research was held at the Department of Chemistry, Faculty of Science, University of Zagreb, with the participation of 12 coordinators from Hungary, Slovenia, Serbia, Moldova, Bosnia and Herzegovina, North Macedonia, Albania, Kosovo and Croatia.
Researchers Dominik Cinčić from the Department of Chemistry and Katarina Lisac (Ruđer Bošković Institute, Croatia) in collaboration with researchers Luzia S. Germann and Robert E. Dinnebier (Max Planck Institute for Solid State Research, Germany), Mihails Arhangelskis (University of Warsaw, Poland), Martin Etter (Deutsches Elektronen-Synchrotron (DESY), Germany), and Tomislav Friščić (University of Birmingham, United Kingdom) have published an article titled Mechanochemical Cis/Trans Isomerization of a Metal Centre Involving a Metal-Organic Halogen-Bonded (MOXB) Cocrystal in the prestigious journal Angewandte Chemie International Edition (IF 16.9).
Edi Topić and Mirta Rubčić, researchers from the Chemistry Department, in collaboration with researchers from Physics Department (Pavla Šenjug, Dario Barišić and Damir Pajić) and Ruđer Bošković Institute (Ivor Lončarić) have published the scientific publication Modulating magnetism in layered hybrid halocuprates(II): The role of constituting ions in the journal Inorganic chemistry communications (IF = 5.4).
Researchers from the Department of Chemistry, Filip Kučas, Lidija Posavec, Nikola Bedeković, Vinko Nemec and Dominik Cinčić, have published a scientific article titled “Evaluation of Azobenzene Ethers Carrying a Perhalogenated Moiety as Halogen Bond Donors by Cocrystallization with Nitrogen-Containing Acceptors” in the ACS journal Crystal Growth & Design (IF 3.4).
Researchers from the Department of Chemistry, Aleksandra Maršavelski and Tomica Hrenar, in collaboration with scientists from the Technion – Israel Institute of Technology in Haifa, Israel (H. Cai, S. Shulami, and A. Fishman) and the Ruđer Bošković Institute (Z. Štefanić), have published a scientific article titled "Allosteric regulation of L-lactate dehydrogenase: Beyond effector-mediated tetramerization" in the prestigious journal Protein Science (IF = 5.2).
