Mission and Vision of the Department of Chemistry

As a constituent unit of the Faculty of Science, the Department of Chemistry provides opportunities for higher education in chemistry with both research-oriented and teaching-oriented tracks. In addition, the Department develops and carries out scientific research programmes that are integrated into the educational process. The Department’s scientific work contributes to the global development of chemical science and also serves to raise the level of natural sciences and technology in the Republic of Croatia.

The Department of Chemistry is recognized as a leading institution distinguished by excellence in both scientific research and education. An active partnership between students and teachers ensures that education is adapted to the characteristics and needs of each student, with clearly defined educational goals and responsibilities. The Department ensures that, with appropriate resources—including state-of-the-art instruments—it maintains the quality of scientific work and study programmes at the highest level.
