Basic considerations about crude oil and gas (geophysical methods, environments in which crude oil and gas appear, porosity, traps). Exercises: determination of structural characteristics of seismic profiles, calculation of porosity). Biostratigraphy and sequence stratigraphy in the exploration of crude oil and gas? Exercises: using pollen, nanoalgae, and forams to reconstruct environments in which crude oil and gas could be formed. Models of sequence stratigraphy for carbonate platforms - Exercises: Analysis of sedimentary environment from geophysical profiles.
