Explain the causes and consequences of sea-level changes throughout geological history and in the present day. Learn how we obtain information about past sea levels based on various indicators. Using examples from the Adriatic Sea and river estuaries, explain how sea-level changes have shaped and influenced the Adriatic region and its estuaries. Explain the consequences of sea-level rise and human factors on the fate of river estuaries.

6) Archeological indicators of the sea level changes;
7) Sea level changes through the history of the Earth;
8) River mouths - deltas;
9) River mouths - estuaries;
10) Effective sea level rise - causes, consequences, examples from the world and Adriatic;
11) Overview of the river mouths along the eastern Adriatic coast;
12) Influence of the sea level rise on humans during Late Quaternary on the Mediterranean area;
13) Case study - Mirna River delta;
14) Case study - Neretva River delta;
15) Case study - Korčula.

The content of the exercises will follow the lectures and will consist of practical tasks and problem-solving related to each specific unit. The emphasis will be on concrete and current issues.
