COURSE GOALS: Through lectures students will be introduced in the principles of operations of detectors and electronics. In particular, scintillation detectors, solid state detectors, multi-wire proportional chambers and Cherenkov detectors, as well as discriminators, ADC, TDC, coincidence units and various standards NIM, CAMAC and PCI. They will acquire knowledge about methods and techniques used in measurements in nuclear and particle physics, as well as applications of these methods and techniques in other fields. Selected laboratory measurements and demonstrations will be done. |
