COURSE GOALS: The main goals of the course Seminar in Methodology of Teaching of Quantum Physics and Theory of Relativity are to develop and improve student competencies in teaching physics in the fourth year of high school, to use interactive teaching methods in topics that seem difficult and abstract, and to use interactive computer simulations in teaching when no classic experiments are available.

2.9. create a learning environment that encourages active engagement in learning and promotes continuing development of pupils' skills and knowledge;

3.1. develop a critical scientific attitude towards research in general, and in particular by learning to critically evaluate arguments, assumptions, abstract concepts and data;

* state and describe students' difficulties related to quantum physics and the theory of relativity
* explain and apply the key physical ideas, models and laws of quantum physics / theory of relativity in a way accessible to students
* prepare lesson plan on the topic in quantum physics / theory of relativity for the fourth year of high school
* use interactive simulations in teaching quantum physics / theory of relativity

8) (3 periods) Schrödinger equation. The uncertainty principle in quantum mechanics.
9) (3 periods) Quantum numbers and structure of the atom.
10) (3 periods) Radioactivity. Fission and fusion.
11) (3 periods) Elementary particles. Modern devices and quantum physics.
12) (3 periods) Students' difficulties with the special theory of relativity.
13) (3 periods) Postulates of special theory of relativity. Inertial systems. Simultaneity.
14) (3 periods) Time dilation. Length contraction.
15) (3 periods) Rest energy. Relativistic dynamics.
REQUIREMENTS FOR STUDENTS:
Students are required to regularly attend the seminar (at least 80%) and to give two seminars.
GRADING AND ASSESSING THE WORK OF STUDENTS:
The final grade is formed based on the given seminars (70%) and active participation in seminar discussions (30%).
