GSO projection and spacetime supersymmetry, Theories of type I, IIA and IIB. Physical intrepretation. Spacetime anomalies.
Lectures 21-22: BRST superstrings quantization. Comuting ghosts. BRST invariance. Bosonisation. Pictures and transition operators between pictures. Simple amplitudes in superstring theory.
Lectures 23-25: Heterotic superstring theory. Construction and spectra. Two possibilities: E8xE8 and SO(32).
Lectures 26-27: T duality in bosonic string theory. D branes and gauge theories. DBI effective actions.
Lectures 28-30: Low energy effective actions in superstring theory. S duality. M-theory.
