Description:
LEARNING OUTCOMES:
1. Understand and recognize the evolutionary processes of cosmic evolution; evolution of Earth, biological evolution to the evolution of the genus Homo
2. Know the basic mechanisms of evolution in biology
3. Identify evolutionary approach in the theoretical and experimental work
4. Connect the acquired knowledge and develop critical thinking in understanding the evolutionary mechanisms and theory
5. Use the phylogenetic analyses in the evolution
6. Apply mathematical models in phylogeny and evolution
7. Use mathematical models in evolutionary genetics
8. Motivate students to collect new literature data for the purpose of interpreting phylogenetic relationships and evolutionary science

COURSE CONTENT:
Subject integrates content from lectures and practical exercises.

2. Material evidences of evolution (paleontology, comparative anatomy, molecular biology, genetics, physiology, biogeography)
3. Massive extinctions and the rate of evolutionary processes
4. Origin of life (chemical and biological evolution)
5. Evolution of the eukaryotic cell, endosymbiosis (organelle evolution)
6. Evolution of the Metazoa
7. Levels of evolutionary processes (microevolution, macroevolution, megaevolution)
8. Speciation
9. Isolation mechanisms
10. Factors of evolution (variability, mutation, recombination, migration, selection, genetic drift)
11. Epigenetics and Darwinism
12. Molecular evolution
