Dr Boris Gomaz obtained his PhD in 2025 at the Ruđer Bošković Institute under the supervision of Dr Zoran Štefanić, with a dissertation focused on the dynamics and allosteric regulation of purine nucleoside phosphorylase from Helicobacter pylori. His doctoral work was carried out within the project Allosteric communication pathways in oligomeric enzymes (IP-2019-04-6764). The results of his research have been published in international journals, including Journal of Chemical Information and Modeling and Symmetry, and presented at several national and international scientific conferences. He completed two research stays at Brunel University London (UK), with a total duration of five months, funded by the Croatian Science Foundation and the HPC-Europa3 programme.
He is currently employed as a researcher on the MI-DNA DISC Horizon Europe project at the Department of Physical Chemistry, Faculty of Science, University of Zagreb, under the supervision of Prof Branimir Bertoša. His current work focuses on molecular dynamics simulations of membrane systems and DNA.
His research interests include computational biophysics, biomolecular dynamics, allostery, large-scale biochemical data analysis and visualization, and the development of computational tools for protein structure and dynamics analysis, with a focus on integrating advanced simulation and analytical methods into biochemical research.
