Chemical equilibrium; Hydrolysis. Common-ion effect
Electrolysis and galvanic cells: reactivity of metals; the relative strengths of various oxidants and reductants; Electrolysis of solutions (dilute sulphuric acid, sodium chloride, sodium sulphate); Faradays laws of electrolysis

LEARNING OUTCOMES
After completion of this course, the successful student will be able to:
1. Use common laboratory equipment to properly make measurements and perform experiments.
2. Demonstrate knowledge of the basic principles of Acids/Bases, and apply these concepts to experiments involving neutralization reactions and titrations.
3. Perform calculations involving concentration, dilution of solutions, and solution stoichiometry.
4. Use the principles of stoichiometry effectively, including limiting reactants, and yields.
5. Perform experiments using the principles of oxidation reduction reactions, and electrochemistry including voltaic and electrolytic cells.
6. Perform the precipitation reactions using the rules that describe the solubility of some common salts in water.
