Biography

Graduated in 2018 from the Department of Chemistry, Faculty of Science, University of Zagreb, with the thesis Identification of lanthanide complexes by mass spectrometry”. He obtained his PhD degree in 2024 with the dissertation Preparation, characterization, and stability of supramolecular systems of nabumetone and β-cyclodextrin derivatives in the solid state and in solution”, under the supervision of Prof. Nives Galić, PhD.

He has been employed at the Department of Analytical Chemistry of the Department of Chemistry since 2019, initially as a research assistant, and since 2025 as a senior research assistant.

His scientific interests include the development of modern analytical methods (LC, LC–MS, spectrophotometry, spectrofluorimetry) for the determination of active pharmaceutical ingredients and other analytes. His research activities also encompass the field of supramolecular chemistry, with a particular focus on the investigation of noncovalent interactions between poorly soluble drugs and cyclodextrins, both in solution and in the solid state.

He has published the results of his research in 11 scientific papers and has presented more than 30 poster or oral communications at international and national scientific conferences. He has delivered three invited lectures. He is currently involved as a collaborator in a project funded by the Croatian Science Foundation (IP-2022-10-6033), “Preparation, characterization and biocompatibility studies of novel drug/cyclodextrin and drug/dextrin-based nanosponge supramolecular complexes with enhanced functionality”, led by Prof. Nives Galić, PhD.

He was awarded five CEEPUS scholarships for one-month research stays at the University of Pécs (Department of Analytical and Environmental Chemistry, Faculty of Sciences), University of Warsaw (Faculty of Chemistry), Semmelweis University (Department of Biophysics and Radiation Biology), and the University of Graz (Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Faculty of Natural Sciences).

He actively participates in teaching activities at the Department of Analytical Chemistry within the courses Analytical Chemistry (40675), Higher laboratory in analytical chemistry 1 (43995), and Higher laboratory in analytical chemistry 1 (44001). He has supervised eight completed master’s theses, is currently supervising three theses in progress, and has served as a co-mentor of one master’s thesis.
