TERMS AND CONDITIONS:

The Call is open to applicants of either gender on equal terms.

In addition to the general terms and conditions of employment, for any point of the Call the applicants must satisfy the requirements set out in the Act on Higher Education and Scientific Activity (Official Gazette No 119/22).

For all points of the Call, the applicants must enclose the following with their application: a CV, the relevant diploma, a proof of citizenship.

The applicants for point 1 of the Call must satisfy the following conditions:

• a doctoral degree in natural science, the field of geophysics.

The applicants for point 1 of the Call must enclose with their application other supporting documents as a proof of eligibility according to the Articles 4 and 10 of the Ordinance on the Appointment into Grades and Positions at the University of Zagreb Faculty of Science, which can be accessed on the PMF website:

For point 1 of the Call, the applicants must enclose the following with their respective applications: a photocopy of the decision concerning their appointment into a research grade (if any), the proofs of the research, teaching and professional work, the reprints of papers, and a certificate of registration and citation in the relevant databases – Web of Science Core Collection, Scopus, Medline, and other databases relevant for specific science fields. The applicants must also enclose a Declaration of Originality for their published academic output, confirming that all their papers and achievements they refer to are the original results of their work and that they do not contain any sources other than the ones mentioned and acknowledged therein. Furthermore, the applicants under point 1 of the Call should also submit the evidence to prove that they meet the individual general and special terms and conditions according to the Decision on the essential terms and conditions for assessment of the teaching, and the scientific and professional activities within the framework of appointment into the research-teaching grades Narodne novine 122/2017 (Official Gazette No 122/17) and its subsequent amendment Narodne novine 120/2021.

The applicants for point 2 of the Call must satisfy the following conditions:

• having a doctoral degree in natural science, the field of physics, the branch of physics of condensed matter;
• satisfying the senior assistant employment criteria as stipulated by the Croatian Science Foundation, which can be accessed at the following weblink:  https://hrzz.hr/provedba/zaposljavanje-na-hrzz-projekte/.
• Additional conditions:
  • Experience in the research of condensed matter physics (experimental), the evidence of which includes a weblink to the published research papers and/or an enclosed list of published research papers authored by the applicant;
  • Experience using the nuclear magnetic resonance technique in strongly correlated systems, the evidence of which includes a weblink to the published research papers and/or an enclosed list of published research papers authored by the applicant;
  • An interest in experimental scientific research work focusing on quantum magnetism, nuclear magnetic resonance, the evidence of which includes a motivational letter.

The applicants for point 3 of the Call must satisfy the following conditions:

• a completed university graduate study programme in Ecology and environmental protection;
• additional conditions:    
  • Experience related to the marine biology and ecology, the evidence of which includes enclosed research and professional papers in the fields of marine biology and ecology.  

For point 4 of the Call, the applicants must satisfy the following conditions:

• a completed university integrated undergraduate and graduate study programme in Biology and chemistry, teaching-oriented;
• additional conditions:
  • experience related to the experimental and laboratory work in the field of freshwater ecology, the evidence of which includes an enclosed certificate of participation in research activities in the framework of science projects;
  • experience related to authoring scientific papers, the evidence of which includes enclosed published papers;
  • experience related to delivering practicums, the evidence of which includes an enclosed certificate of delivery;

For point 5, the applicants must satisfy the following conditions:

• a completed university graduate study programme in Experimental Biology;
• additional conditions:
  • knowledge related to the basic molecular laboratory methods, the evidence of which includes enclosed research or professional publications;
  • active knowledge of oral and written English, the evidence of which includes a photocopy of a certificate, a student assessment record, a transcript of academic grades, a language-proficiency certificate etc.
  • experience related to the use of HPLC-LC and MS/MS, the evidence of which includes enclosed research and professional publications.

The applicants for point 6 must satisfy the following conditions:

• a completed university graduate study programme in natural science, the field of geophysics.

The applicants for points 3, 4, and 5 of the Call must enclose with their applications the evidence to prove that they meet the additional terms and conditions listed in the Ordinance on Additional Terms and Conditions for Appointment into Grades and the Corresponding Positions at the Department of Biology, Faculty of Science, University of Zagreb.

For all points of the Call the applicants who qualify for employment preference under the special regulations should refer to the preference in their application and enclose therewith all evidence as listed in the special regulations governing the priority placement rights, as well as all evidence of eligibility and of absence of any impediment to their exercising of the priority placement rights as stipulated under the special regulations. Such applicants will be given employment preference within this Call over other candidates, under the same terms and conditions of the Call, based on a duly completed, complete and timely application, provided they meet all the terms and conditions of the Call and that they have achieved top scores in the selection procedure.   

For all points of the Call foreign nationals must provide a Croatian language certificate.

An application shall be deemed duly completed and complete if it contains all the data and the supporting documents in keeping with the Call requirements. Incomplete, disorganised, and late applications shall not be taken into consideration, nor will there be a subsequent invitation to the applicants to amend such applications.

The assessment of the applicants for all points of the Call may take the form of an interview.

The applicants who fully satisfy the formal terms and conditions of the Call can be invited to take the form of an interview. The applicants will receive an e-mail invitation advising them of the time and place of the interview.

Any applicant who fails to attend the interview at the time and the place as specified in the separate invitation, shall be deemed to have withdrawn from the Call proceedings.

The PMF collects and processes personal data of the applicants taking part in the Call for Applications for positions with the aim of verifying qualifications and eligibility in accordance with the Decision on the Collection, Protection and Processing of Personal Data (CLASSIFICATION No: 035-01/18-01/5; FILE No:251-58-10201-18-2).

The closing date for the submission of applications for points 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6 of the Call is 30 days after the publication of the Call in the Official Gazette, whereas the closing date for the submission of applications for point 1 of the Call is 60 days after the publication of the Call in the Official Gazette of the Republic of Croatia. 

The results of the Call will be published on the official website of the PMF: www.pmf.unizg.hr (Competitions).
