The Faculty Council of the Faculty of Science, University of Zagreb (hereinafter: the PMF), pursuant to Articles 32(1)(19) and 77 of the Faculty Statutes, announces the following:

 

C A L L   F O R   A P P L I C A T I O N S

for the appointment of 

 

1. an associate to the associate category I position of - assistant in natural sciences, the field of chemistry, for a fixed term and on a full-time basis at the Division of Physical Chemistry of the PMF Department of Chemistry – 1 person.

2. an associate to the associate category I position of - assistant in natural sciences, the field of physics, the branch of the elementary particles and fields, for a fixed term and on a full-time basis at the Theoretical Physics Division of Particles and Fields of the PMF’s Department of Physics – 1 person.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS:

The Call is open to applicants of either gender on equal terms.

In addition to the general terms and conditions of employment, the applicants must satisfy the requirements set out in the Act on Higher Education and Scientific Activity (Official Gazette No 119/22).

 

The applicants for all points of the Call should enclose the following with their respective applications: a CV, the relevant diploma, a proof of citizenship, the transcript of academic grades

 

The applicants for point 1 must provide the evidence to prove that they satisfy the following eligibility condition:

  • to have completed a university graduate study programme in chemistry, research-focused;

The applicants for point 1 must satisfy the following additional terms and conditions listed in the Ordinance on Additional Terms and Conditions for Appointment into Grades and the Corresponding Positions at the Department of Chemistry, Faculty of Science, University of Zagreb, and provide the supporting documents to prove:

 

  • their experience related to the synthesis and characterisation of supramolecular ion receptors, including relevant publications in science journals and the conference proceedings; 
  • their experience related to the use of instrumental methods of the physicochemical characterisation of processes in solutions (microcalorimetry, UV-Vis and NMR spectroscopies) and to the data processing, including relevant publications in science journals and the science conference proceedings;
  • the experience related to simulating molecular dynamics of the supramolecular complexes in solutions, including relevant publications in science journals and the science conference proceedings.    

The applicants for point 2 must provide the evidence to prove that they satisfy the following eligibility condition:

  • a completed university graduate study programme in physics.

For all points of the Call, the applicants who qualify for employment preference under the special regulations should refer to the preference in their application and enclose therewith all evidence as listed in the special regulations governing the priority placement rights, as well as all evidence of eligibility and of absence of any impediment to their exercising of the priority placement rights as stipulated under the special regulations. Such applicants will be given employment preference within this Call over other candidates, under the same terms and conditions of the Call, based on a duly completed, complete and timely application, provided they satisfy all the terms and conditions of this Call and that they achieved top results in the selection procedures.

 

Foreign nationals should provide a proof of Croatian language proficiency.

An application shall be deemed duly completed and complete if it contains all the data and the supporting documents in keeping with the Call requirements. Incomplete, disorganised, and late applications shall not be taken into consideration, nor will there be a subsequent invitation to the applicants to amend such applications.

 

The assessment of the applicants may take the form of any of the following:

  • a written test of knowledge, skills and abilities essential for the position that is being filled pursuant to this Call;
  • an interview with the applicants.

All the applicants who are fully eligible under the formal terms and conditions of the Call shall take part in the first selection procedure.

 

If necessary, the applicants may be invited to participate in additional selection procedures based on the results achieved in the previous selection procedure.

 

The applicants invited to take part in a selection procedure will receive a special e-mail invitation with the details of time, place and the chosen selection procedure. 

Applicants who fail to attend any of the selection procedures they have been invited to pursuant to the special e-mail invitation, shall be deemed to have withdrawn from the Call proceedings.

 

The PMF collects and processes personal data of the applicants taking part in the Call for Applications for positions with the aim of verifying qualifications and eligibility in accordance with the Decision on the Collection, Protection and Processing of Personal Data (CLASSIFICATION No: 035-01/18-01/5; FILE No:251-58-10201-18-2).

 

The closing date for the submission of applications is 30 days after the publication of the Call in the Official Gazette. 

 

The results of the Call will be published on the official website of the PMF: www.pmf.unizg.hr (Competitions).
