Description:
COURSE AIMS AND OBJECTIVES: Acquirement of fundamental theoretical and experimental knowledge of mechanics (including fluid mechanics), operative knowledge of methods for solving numerical problems in mechanics, and development of physics and mathematics modelling skills

COURSE DESCRIPTION AND SYLLABUS:
1) Physical quantities, units, vectors
2) Kinematics; trajectory, velocity, acceleration
3) Movement in one dimension
4) Movement in two and three dimensions, separation into components
5) Circular motion; angular kinematic quantities
6) Newton laws
7) Applications of Newton laws
8) Fundamental forces, Newton's law of gravitation, Kepler's laws
9) Elastic force; friction
10) inertial and noninertial reference frames
11) Work, kinetic and potential energy, power
12) Conservation of energy and momentum; collisions
13)-14) Statics and dynamics of rigid body
15) Fluid mechanics
