Description:
COURSE AIMS AND OBJECTIVES:
- Introduction to the basics of logic programming and functional programming.
- Acquiring practical skills in logic programming (on the example language Prolog).
- Acquiring practical skills in functional programming (on the example language Haskell).

COURSE DESCRIPTION AND SYLLABUS:
- Prolog. Facts, rules and queries. Unification and proof search. Recursion. Lists. Arithmetic. Grammars in Prolog. Terms. Cut and negation. Database manipulation and solution collection. Working with files.
- Haskell. Introduction to Haskell. Types and type classes. Function syntax. Recursion. Higher-order functions. Modules. User types and type classes. Input and output. Functional problem solving. Functors, applicative functors and monoids. Monads. Zippers.
