COURSE OBJECTIVES:
The objective of Analytical chemistry course is the introduction to basic principles and methods of qualitative and quantitative chemical analysis with the purpose of conducting classes in elementary and high school and understanding basic methods of gravimetric, volumetric, chromatographic and spectroscopic analysis.

COURSE CONTENT:

LECTURES AND SEMINARS (TOPICS)
1) Systematic approach to chemical analysis from sampling to analytical information;
2) Statistical data assessment;
3-4) Chemistry of aqueous solutions and chemical equilibrium;
5) Titrimetric methods of analysis: titration curves, standard solutions, indicators;
6) Precipitation titrations for quantitative determination of halides;
7-8) Neutralization titrations, hydrolysis, buffers and ?-values;
9) Complexometric titrations of metal ions with EDTA;
10-11) Electrode potentials and oxidation-reduction titrations;
12-13) Introduction to chromatographic methods of analysis;
14-15) Principles of analysis with atomic and molecular spectroscopy methods.
