COURSE AIMS AND OBJECTIVES:
The aim of this course is to train students for more advanced use of personal computers for everyday needs. This includes the creation of web pages, presentations and posters with mathematical text, spreadsheets in teaching and the use of mathematical computer packages for symbolic computations.
COURSE DESCRIPTION AND SYLLABUS:
1-4) More advanced spreadsheet calculations and database basics. Data structuring, filtering, visualization.
5-6) Basic website development. Principles of website development, structuring information (text, images, links between pages).
7) Separating content from presentation by using styles
8-10) Preparation of presentations with complex mathematical text and graphical representations. Principles of making presentations, structuring information (emphasis on methodology and application in teaching).
11-15) Application of Computer Algebra System (CAS). Symbolic and numerical computation, visualization, simple and complex data structures. Application in mathematical analysis, linear algebra and geometry.
