Description:
COURSE AIMS AND OBJECTIVES: The aim of the course is to provide an introduction to the game theory. The focus will be on parts of the theory considered crucial for applications in economics. Students will get accustomed to economic principles such as market competition, industrial relations and negotiations, corporate investment and capital structure, international competition.

COURSE DESCRIPTION AND SYLLABUS:
1. Strategic games. Basic definitions. Nash equilibrium. Kakutani's and Nash's theorem. Zero-sum games. Examples from economics. Mixed extrensions. Bimatrix games. Matrix games. Correlated equilibrium.
2. Extensive games. Nash equilibrium in extensive games. Mixed and behaviour strategies. Perfect bayesian and sequential equilibrium.
3. Evolutionary game theory. Symmetric bimatrix games and symmetric Nash equilibria. Evolutionary stable strategies. Replicator dynamics.
4. Cooperative games. Bargaining problems. Nash bargaining solution. Kalai-Smorodinsky bargaining solution. Transferable utility games. Core. Shapley value. Nucleolus.
