All teaching activities will be held in Croatian. However, foreign students in mixed groups will have the opportunity to attend additional office hours with the lecturer and teaching assistants in English to help master the course materials. Additionally, the lecturer will refer foreign students to the corresponding literature in English, as well as give them the possibility of taking the associated exams in English.

Description:
COURSE AIMS AND OBJECTIVES: The aim of the course is to develop competencies of pre-service physics teachers to independently prepare, perform and interpret physics school experiments. The emphasis is on the student and demonstration experiments which help students to acquire a physical experience of new phenomena. Experiment and corresponding discussion are essential for further generalization and development of physical ideas.

COURSE DESCRIPTION AND SYLLABUS:
1. Demonstration experiments.
2. Conceptual understanding of physics - the initial test and discussion.
3. Law of conservation of energy.
4. Heat.
5. Radioactivity.
6. Resistance in AC circuits.
7. Atomic physics.
8. Conceptual test and discussion.
9. Harmonic oscillations.
10. Gas laws.
11. Law of conservation of momentum.
12. Experiments with computers.
13. Wave properties of light.
14. Conceptual test and discussion.
15. Extra lab time.
Exercise 3 to 7 and 9 to 13 are carried out cyclically.

TEACHING AND ASSESSMENT METHODS: Classes are held in the laboratory, students perform experiments and measurements, along with the discussion on the physical laws and methods for demonstration of experiments in classroom. After the tutorial, students get three short questions/problems that they answer in writing. Next week they are examined orally about the tutorial, and their answers to short questions/problems are also discussed. Students write an initial test and two conceptual tests per semester. The test results are discussed with each student individually.
