Ivor Vavra Plavšić was born in Zagreb, where he completed his primary and secondary education. In 2019, he participated in the International Chemistry Olympiad (IChO) and the International Mendeleev Chemistry Olympiad (IMChO), where he won bronze medals.
In 2019, he enrolled in the undergraduate program in chemistry at the Department of Chemistry, Faculty of Science, University of Zagreb, which he completed in 2022. That same year, he began the graduate program in chemistry at the same faculty. His master’s thesis, titled Dissolution of Fluorite Colloidal Particles Coated with Sodium Poly(4-styrenesulfonate), was completed at the Division of Physical Chemistry under the mentorship of Prof. Tajana Begović. During his graduate studies, he received the Department of Chemistry Medal for outstanding academic achievement. In 2024, he enrolled in the doctoral program in chemistry at the Department of Chemistry, Faculty of Science, University of Zagreb.
In 2024, he was employed as an assistant at the Division of Physical Chemistry, Department of Chemistry, Faculty of Science, University of Zagreb. He is a participant on the Croatian Science Foundation project IP-2020-02-9571 “Physical Chemistry of Processes at the Mineral/Polyelectrolyte Solution Interface.” He participates in teaching courses in Electrochemistry, Physical Chemistry Laboratory 1 and 2, and Advanced Physical Chemistry Laboratory 1.
He is a co-author of one scientific paper and has presented his research in one oral presentation and three poster presentations.
He is a member of the Croatian Chemical Society.
