Description:

Define globalization, explain its development and emergence, and the different discourses in interpreting the globalization process. View the phenomenon of globalization from multiple aspects - economic, political, social, and environmental. Become familiar with the phenomena of institutional, regional, and economic integration and understand globalization processes in the relations between the developed and underdeveloped world. Become familiar with global demographic, especially migration trends, as well as contemporary global political phenomena and processes that particularly concern Croatia and its position i.e. role in globalization. Become familiar with sustainable development, its meaning, and contemporary environmental problems (climate change, global warming, ecological footprint). Develop professional competencies in the core science and competencies for independent research.
