Born in Zagreb where he completed primary and secondary school. He graduated from the study of Geography at the Faculty of Science, University of Zagreb in 2000, and was winner of the Rector’s award (1999/2000). He has been employed at the Department of Geography since 2001 and has been teaching in the department since then. He teaches the courses Population geography and Historical geography (undergraduate research study), Urban historical geography, and Cultural landscapes: protection and management (graduate study Heritage and tourism). In the Doctoral study of Geography: Space, Region, Environment, Landscape, he teaches courses in the module Study of population. In 2011, he received recognition from the Faculty Council of the Faculty of Science for his achievements in scientific and expert work. He has served as head of the Division of Regional Geography and Methodic (2011 – 2013). From 2011 – 2013, he was head of a Ministry of Science and Education project “Geographic research of Croatian border regions”. He was a member of the executive board of the Croatian Geographic Society (2004/05 and 2010 – 2014). He has participated in the publication of the journal Geografski Horizont (secretary and member of the editorial board 2005–2010, editor-in-chief 2010–2013, and member of the editorial board since 2014). He also served as Assistant Department head for finance from 2015 – 2017. He is a member of the Commission for standardization of geographical names of the Government of the Republic of Croatia.
