Summary:

The goals of the project were:

1. Establishment and implementation of hydromorphological monitoring of rivers in the Republic of Croatia and assessment of hydromorphological status of rivers according to the prescribed methodology of monitoring and assessment of hydromorphological indicators.

2. Consolidation and presentation of existing methods and tools for monitoring hydromorphological characteristics of rivers and assessment of hydromorphological changes in the member states of the European Union, according to the Water Framework Directive of the European Union;

3. Development of a methodology for monitoring and assessing hydromorphological quality elements in rivers, so that the methodology can be used to detect changes in hydromorphological conditions and determine processes and assess the extent of change.


In addition to the development of the methodology, the project also included the first hydromorphological field monitoring of a total of 137 water bodies in Croatia.
