Description:
COURSE AIMS AND OBJECTIVES:
The aim of this course is to raise students' awareness about the applications of mathematics in everyday life and natural sciences, solidify their use of mathematical language and reading of mathematical proofs.

COURSE DESCRIPTION AND SYLLABUS:
1.-7. Mathematization. Examples of using mathematics in physics, chemistry, biology and economy. Applications of mathematics in everyday life. Process of mathematization.
8.-15. Proof. Types of proofs (direct proof, proof by contradiction). Examples of proofs in school mathematics. Construction of examples and counterexamples. Mathematical induction. Reading and constructing proofs.
