COURSE AIMS AND OBJECTIVES: The aim of the course is to train students to apply linear algebra in other branches of mathematics, technical and natural sciences.

COURSE DESCRIPTION AND SYLLABUS:
Systems of linear equations. Determination of equations of curves and surfaces through given points. Applications in other branches of mathematics, natural sciences and technical sciences
Vector spaces. Lagrange interpolation polynomial. Homogeneous linear differential equations. Frames
Matrices and linear operators. Geometry of linear operators on R^2 and R^3. Markov chains. Linear models in economics. Graphs and digraphs. Approximation in terms of least squares
Eigenvalues and eigenvectors. Ranking of websites. Linear recursions. Systems of linear differential equations. Models of population growth
