ASPECT User Forum and first General Assembly

The second annual ASPECT User Forum was held over three days (from January 30 to February 1, 2024), and included a range of presentations and interactive sessions. It was fantastic to have participants from diverse sectors and backgrounds, with over 150 attendees joining the event, including stakeholders from research and academia, public authorities, the private sector and non-governmental organisations. The first ASPECT General Assembly brought together the project consortium, including researchers and Super Users from across Europe, to share the work carried out during the first year of the project and explore future plans. The consortium also benefited from hearing the reflections and feedback from the project’s external advisory board. Croatian members also participated in these activities. Recording of User Forum can be found on the official YouTube channel. You can find more information on the agenda of the event here. The next ASPECT User Forum is expected to take place in early 2025.

The ASPECT kick-off meeting was held on 1-3 February at the headquarters of the Met Office in Exeter, UK, with partners from across Europe coming together, both in person and virtually, for the first time. This four-year project, aiming to improve the provision of seamless climate information to facilitate sectoral adaptation, is set to run until December 2026. Representatives from the 11 research institutions, universities and users participating in the project, as well as from range of organisations who use climate information, took part in the kick-off meeting and engaged in fruitful discussions. The Croatian delegation at the kick-off meeting was represented by Maja Telišman Prtenjak and Daniel Belušić.
