Final workshop of the SWALDRIC project

 

On 21.11.2022. the last meeting, i.e. the final workshop of the SWALDRIC project was held. The most important results can be seen on the poster. In total, more than 30 people attended on-site, and there were also quite a few participants who joined via the Zoom platform. After the welcome and a few introductory words, presentations by PhD students working on the SWALDRIC project began, followed by invited lecturers. A list of all presentations can be found here. After finishing and saying goodbye, the gathering continued in an informal form with lunch.

 

EMS Annual Meeting 2022

 

This year, EMS Annual Meeting was held from 4 unitl 9 September 2022 in Bonn, Germny. The theme for the 2022 EMS Annual Meeting was Connecting communities to deliver seamless weather and climate science and services. This conference was supported by the researcher from the SWALDRIC project who presented their latest research in 3 presentations. The conference programme can be found here.

EGU General Assembly 2022

 

EGU General Assembly 2022 was held, for the first time, in a fully hybrid form. EGU General Assembly 2022 included 12,332 presentations in 791 sessions. 7,315 colleagues from 89 countries participated on site in Vienna, accompanied by 7,002 virtual attendees from 116 countries. Challenges in Meteorology 8

 


Challenges in Meteorology is a scientific-professional conference with international participation organized by the Croatian Meteorological Society. This year, Challenges in Meteorology were held from 28-29 April 2020 in Zagreb, Croatia. Second annual SWALDRIC meeting

 

The second SWALDRIC annual meeting was held on 29.10.2021 in hybrid form. Once again SWALDRIC collaborators got together to present and discuss the most recent research results. Project activities were discussed and next steps were decided. The meeting agenda can be found here.

 

 

EMS Annual Meeting 2021

 

 

EMS Annual Meeting 2021 was held virtually from 6 until 10 September 2021. Every day four parallel sessions were held which gathered  549 researchers from 43 countries. Among them, researchers from the SWALDRIC research group presented their results with one oral presentation. The programme of the conference can be found here.

8th International Conference on Meteorology and Climatology of the Mediterranean

 

 

The 8th International Conference on Meteorology and Climatology of the Mediterranean (MetMed) has taken place (virtually) on May, 25 – 27, 2021. This conference aims to show, discuss and disseminate the contributions of the international scientific community on different aspects of meteorology and the climatology of the Mediterranean Basin and foster communication between different research groups. Researchers from the SWALDRIC group participated in this conference with one presentation showing the newest results. The conference programme can be found here.

EGU General Assembly 2021

 

 

EGU General Assembly 2021 was held in a virtual environment. SWALDRIC research group members participated in this event and presented their results with one poster. EGU General Assembly 2021 has included 18,172 scientists from 135 countries, attending 13,643 live presentations in 642 scientific sessions, 5 Union Symposia, and 32 Medal and Award Lectures sessions; attending 5 Great Debates and 56 Short Courses; networking in 47 Union-organized and 72 pop-up networking events, and attending 117 side events. SWALDRIC progress meeting

 

 

On 23.4.2021 a smaller SWALDRIC progress meeting was held. This meeting was dedicated to PhD students and their research activities. The most recent results were discussed and the strategy for further colaboration is decided. The meeting agenda can be found here.

 

 

3rd European Hail Workshop

 

 

 

The next European Hail Workshop took place from 15 to 18 March 2021 as an online workshop. SWALDRIC research group members participated in this event and presented their results with two presentations and a poster. A detailed programme can be found here.

Challenges in Meteorology 7 - Meteorology supporting public authorities

 

 

Challenges in Meteorology are scientific and professional conferences organized by the Croatian Meteorological Society. In 2020 due to the pandemic, the conference brought together meteorologists, climatologists and other experts along with the users of meteorological information in a virtual setting.  The main aim of the conference is to exchange the most recent results of the scientific research in meteorology as well as strengthen communication with the users of meteorological data.

This year, from 4 till 5 November 2020, SWALDRIC research group participated in Challenges in Meteorology conference with two presentations in Meteorological extremes and their impacts session. More about the conference as well as the programme of the conference can be found here.

First annual SWALDRIC meeting

 

Due to the coronavirus, the first annual SWALDRIC meeting was held virtually on 26.5.2020. In this meeting PhD students and project, collaborators presented their most recent results. Participation in EGU General Assembly

 

 

 

As the response to COVID-19 pandemic, the EGU General Assembly in 2020 was held in the online format. SWALDRIC research group members participated in this event and presented their results with two posters. 18,036 submitted and accepted abstracts formed a programme with 11,380 presentation materials which received 6,297 comments. During the five days (4 - 8 May 2020) 22376 individuals from 134 countries participated in this event. You can find the detailed programme here.

The European Conference on Severe Storms

 

 

Every two years, the international scientific community gets together to participate in the European Conference on Severe Storms and present the newest results in severe storm research. 2019 SWALDRIC research group members have participated in this conference and presented its results with two posters. The conference has taken place in Krakow, Poland, from 4 to 8 November 2019. During this time more than 200 international participants, including many lead scientists in the field discussed newest findings on severe weather, Detailed programme of the conference can be found here.

Preliminary results presented at the EMS Annual Meeting 2019

 

 

At the EMS Annual Meeting 2019 in Kopenhagen, Denmark the research group members presented with a poster preliminary results from the WRF-HAILCAST model.

Project SWALDRIC introduced at the 5th PannEx Workshop

 

 

Project SWALDRIC was introduced at the 5th PannEx Workshop in Novi Sad, Serbia (poster). PannEx is an initiative of scientist from Paninian basin region. PannEx aims to observe, understand and model climatological, atmospheric and hydrological processes in this region. The workshop lasted from  3-5. SWALDRIC kick-off meeting
