Summary
In the proposed project, improvements in the remediation of micropollutants such as selected heavy metals and polycyclic aromatic compounds from natural water and sediment samples from the environment will be investigated. New scientific approaches will be developed, which will include the characterization and testing of the performance of synthesized nanomaterials for the purpose of removing harmful substances from the environment. The obtained results will be used in the assessment of the future use of the examined materials for remediation purposes. The project includes the planning and implementation of experiments, the use of advanced instrumentation, and also the involvement of doctoral students in the implementation of project tasks in both laboratories, Austrian and Croatian.
